when the arvn are telling their squad to go back to the village i thought it was good thinking and messed up to put their hands up because it was smart but they made the chopper take out their own team. they should have just gotten on together instead of fighting over it. why do you think the arvn did that?

I thought the gun fight on the hill was very interesting. when they were trying to make it up the hill shooting at the Cong and when they finally got to the top and there was three Cong's left and Captain Stewart shoot one of them in the head. Than as they were shooting down the hill Johnson and Perry got shoot as the other troops try to help there was to much fire they grabbed them and went back down the hill they came up on. Reasoning i thought i was interesting because two people got shoot.

lieutenant gearhart set off a flare and exposed the whole squad when they were camped out in a ditch with no cover. the congs attacked and they held a good defense but one person died and the medic got hit.
my response to it was that it was surprising and i wasnt expecting that to happen. my question is did gearhart set off the flare?

I thought that this part was puzzling because why would you believe that body bags are for you?

What do you think would happen if the whole squad started thinking that there were a bunch of fresh body bags back at the base for them? Explain the significance of why the soldiers can't think that the body bags are for them.

"I thought of writing Kenny. He would dig getting a letter from Nam. I remembered once he was involved with a pen-pal program and got a letter from some kid in Logan, West Virginia. He had looked at me with his wide, bright eyes and smiled like he couldn't believe the great thing that had happened to him."

Response: I thought this was cute how this soldier had a huge grin on his face because a little boy wrote him a letter and he finally had someone to write to.

His ideas are good but will he ever actually make the move to help his little brother? If he doesn't does that make him a bad person or just immature?
